Outreach and Education

What We Do

The LHA Outreach and Education Department works directly in the community to promote health education, wellness, and equity for low-income families throughout Orange County. Our Promotor/CHW team uses creative outreach, relationship-building, and culturally rooted engagement to connect with residents where they are—in the streets, in the community, and in the neighborhoods we call home.

We build trust through empathy, active listening, and shared lived experiences while helping community members access resources, education, and support services that improve overall well-being. All of our work is grounded in LHA principles and strategies, ensuring collaboration across programs and a unified approach to community health.

.

Our Approach

Our Promotores/CHW’s are trained community leaders who create meaningful connections through inclusion, participation, and social justice. By meeting people where they are, we foster safe spaces for learning, healing, and community connection. We also work in close collaboration with other program teams to ensure alignment, shared learning, and the integration of LHA principles across all outreach efforts
